Dr. Wang’s research interest is in the areas of electrochemical engineering, surface
analysis, supercritical fluids technique, sol-gel technique and nanotechnology for
synthesis of materials for catalysis, gas sensors, biosensors, waste treatment and life
science applications
Topics of current research include the following,

Biosensors

Synthesis of novel materials for electrocatalytical applications.

Miniature single-use disposable electrode platform for blood sugar, kidney
function and liver function analysis.

Highly sensitive electrochemical immunosensors for tumor markers
screening and non-invasive osteoarthritis diagnosis.

Ion-selective electrodes (ISE)

Point-of-care technique (POCT).

Gas Sensors

Synthesis of metal oxide nanomaterials and nano-composites for gas
sensing.

Gas sensor for room air quality diagnosis.

Human breathing gases analysis.

Waste Treatment

Selective oxidation catalysts synthesis

High concentration waste ammonia gas treatment

