Graduate Loan limits The maximum amount you can borrow each year in Direct Unsubsidized Loans depends on the program in which you are enrolled. No more than $65,500 may be Subsidized and the aggregate loan limit for graduate and professional students includes subsidized loans received for loan periods beginning before July 1, 2012, and prior subsidized loans received for undergraduate study.
