Welcome to our exciting and challenging year!
PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. The PTA is a group of concerned Redland parents and
faculty working together to share ideas and information about issues and community affairs. We
are committed to be responsive to the needs of all our students, staff and parents. Rest up this
summer so you can make a commitment to get involved and stay informed this year. Be a part of
our crew and sail through a successful 2014-2015 school year.

6th Grade Families Ice Cream Social
Thursday, August 21
7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
6th
grade families are invited to attend an ice cream social and take a sneak peek at Redland. Come and get
your middle school jitters out. Get some of your questions answered before the first day of school. Meet
other 6th grade families. Current Redland parents, students and staff will be at the social to offer tours of
the school and answer any questions you might have. You will have the opportunity to purchase Redland
spirit wear, join the PTA and learn about volunteer opportunities. There will be a parent meeting with Mr.
Davis held in the media center.

Our goal is to have every Redland family participate at whatever level they can manage and to
raise $6,000. Every contribution makes a difference! Suggested donation categories are:

All families who donate $25 or more by September 26th
will be recognized by donation level in the 2014-15 student directory. 
(Donations of any amount are gladly accepted!)

VOLUNTEERS ARE WELCOME AT REDLAND!
Redland Middle School welcomes ALL parents to volunteer in some capacity. Please consider
giving some of your time and energy to support our students and staff and join our crew. We have
a dedicated staff who welcomes all of our help. Look at the list below and think about where your
talents and treasures would be best put to use. Look for the volunteer sign up table at the 6th
grade Ice Cream Social 8/21, Back to School Night 9/4, Redland Fall Family Night 9/18 and the
October PTA Meeting 10/14 .
There are more opportunities then you think to support the PTA, students and staff
at Redland. You can bake, shop, chaperone, set up, clean up, sell tickets, Xerox,
answer phones, shelve books, make signs, create bulletin boards, donate to the Dog
Pound, help in the health room and more. Be sure to pick one, two or more
volunteer opportunities to be a part of our successful year.
