From responding to reading to brief writing exercises to writing paragraphs and essays,
From less challenging, basic/concrete thinking skills to making inferences, drawing
conclusions, and evaluating text,
From speaking practice through dialogues and conversations to speaking to narrate, inform
and persuade,
From generic listening to listening for academic purposes. Specifically respond to directions,
Students will be able to use these skills to communicate effectively in English as a new language.
They will be able to use culture, gender, and social factors to affect communication.
