The Campbell Program
Pre-Pharmacy Curriculum
Pre-Pharmacy is a unique, non-degree
program specially designed to prepare you
for entry into Campbell’s highly regarded
and competitive graduate and professional
programs within the College of Pharmacy
& Health Sciences (CPHS).
The pre-pharmacy curriculum is intended for those students
who have strong interests in the biomedical sciences. Our
students are also dedicated, disciplined, and well-motivated. In
addition to preparation for Pharmacy School, the curriculum
also prepares students to enter the bachelor’s degree programs in
pharmaceutical sciences, clinical research, or other specific
disciplines.
The pre-pharmacy curriculum will assist a
student in the completion of the
requirements for all College of Pharmacy
& Health Sciences programs. During the
pre-pharmacy years, each student will have
an academic advisor, in addition to faculty
mentors who will provide the student with
appropriate advice and guidance each
semester with academic and professional
development.
The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
program consists of four years of
professional study after completion of at
least two years of Pre-Pharmacy course
work. After earning your Doctor of
Pharmacy degree, you are qualified to
work in over 70 different areas of clinical
pharmacy practice.
The Campbell Approach
Pre-Pharmacy is one of Campbell’s largest
undergraduate programs. Class sizes are
small and you will be exposed to
state-of-the-art didactic, laboratory, and
computer instrumentation throughout
your pre-professional training.
In setting your goals, you should know that
our College of Pharmacy & Health
Sciences is among the nation’s most
competitive. However, our Campbell
Pre-Pharmacy students are so well prepared
that they typically constitute more than
half of each Doctor of Pharmacy class.
The Pre-Pharmacy Club, sponsored by the College of Pharmacy
& Health Sciences, introduces Pre-Pharmacy students to the
numerous opportunities available to them. The club also
provides interaction with practicing pharmacists and current
pharmacy students through various campus activities, social
events, and professional development activities.
