All letters must be in template format, unless pre-approved by RBHS Faculty Affairs. 2. Review sheets for Faculty Actions should be on white paper/stock. Review sheets for Faculty Renewal Leaves must be on green paper/stock. 3. Supply all materials as submitted to the School's Appointments & Promotions Committee. I.E., letters of recommendation, teaching portfolio, dept/school votes, etc. 4. Other supporting documents can include: Explanation letter to faculty member; letter to union, outside offer letter, faculty member's request for change or separation, etc. 5. May be reported annually via lists during the month of June. 6. When submitting Faculty Renewal Leaves the following are also required and must be submitted three (3) months prior to the effective date: a. b. c. Detailed description of the plan for the renewal leave. Letter from host university or organization confirming invitation. Approval of the School's committee. 7. Professional Leaves is a leave without salary for acceptance of assignments of limited duration with other universities and colleges, public service agencies, or as a delegate, expert, consultant or similar function for other appropriate purposes consistent with the needs and interests of the University. Professional Leaves must be submitted at least one (1) month prior to effective date. 8. Only 100% "Coterminous Full-title (Unpaid)" actions need an offer letter. All changes in salary components require a letter to the faculty member advising them of the change, with a copy to the union (if applicable). This is a required attachment. For Retention of Full Title or Tenure Status, see School Bylaws for all requirements. Kathy Bramwell must approval all appointments and faculty changes. Please include her email approval with supporting documentation. Please note that School Budget must sign/approval all FTFs. All faculty w/ less than 50% FTE will be approved by RBHS Faculty Affairs. All faculty w/ 50% or greater FTE will be reviewed/approved by the Provosts and Chancellor. Requirements for Awaiting Faculty Appointments When individuals are needed immediately to provide VITAL services (usually in educational or clinical areas), the awaiting faculty appointment status can be used as a mechanism to pay an individual until the faculty appointment ca be processed. NO ONE MAY PERFORM WORK AT THE UNIVERSITY FOR WHICH SHE OR HE WILL BE COMPENSATED UNLESS GIVE AN AWAITING FACULTY OR OTHER OFFICIAL APOINTMENT. Faculty in awaiting faculty appointments serve at the will and pleasure of the University and their employment at the University may be terminated at any time. The maximum length of time for faculty members to be in awaiting status is 90 days. Exceptions can be made by submitting a letter of justification from the Dean addressed to the RBHS Chancellor requesting an exception to the 90-day limit, the reason for extension beyond the 90 days, and the date the faculty member is expected to be given his/her full appointment.
