REQUEST FOR SELECTION OF FACULTY TITLE OR TRACK FOR ALL NON-TENURED FACULTY IN THE AAUPBHSNJ NEGOTIATIONS UNIT TO TAKE EFFECT JULY 1, 2016 In accordance with the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) Policies and Guidelines Governing Appointments, 1 Promotions, and Professional Activities of the Faculty , (http://academiclaborrelations.rutgers.edu/rbhs-apguidelines#node-138) all non-tenured faculty in the AAUP-BHSNJ negotiations unit are asked to affirm in writing, prior to June 30, 2016, the faculty title or track in which they request to transfer or remain. To facilitate this process, faculty shall meet with their Department Chair/Program Director or designee and complete this request form prior to May 1, 2016. Selection of RBHS Lecturer, RBHS Instructor, or selection of one of the four non-tenure track title series requires approval by the department chair and the dean. Transfer from the non-tenure track to the tenure-track requires approval by the department chair, dean, provost and chancellor. Faculty will be provided with a letter outlining their faculty title/track description, guidelines for reappointment and promotion, and achieving tenure if applicable, the faculty member’s responsibilities and the responsibilities and commitment of RBHS. The letter will be signed by the chair, the dean, and the faculty member.
