What Is Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) 9 and 14 Certification?
The MEF certification program verifies compliance of vendor equipment and service provider services with MEF
technical specifications through a series of rigorous tests based on MEF-approved test suites.

Having the Cisco Catalyst 4900M Switch MEF certified is an important step in showing that the Cisco Catalyst
4900M is appropriate for deployment in carrier Ethernet networks and will make the switch easier to sell to service
providers.

The Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series Switches, Cisco ME 4924-10GE Switch, and Cisco Catalyst 4900M Switch are all
now MEF certified.
