Reading and Writing


We asked questions to understand new
vocabulary in informational texts.
We asked questions using the words who, what,
when, where, why and how.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Before, during, and after reading a non-fiction book,
ask your child to think of questions.
Science


We continued to discuss the external features
of animals.
We compared body coverings of different
animals and their purposes.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Notice the body coverings of the animals you see
outside of your house. What do they have in common?
Math



We talked about the attributes of shapes.
We used shapes to compose new shapes.
We found similarities in the attributes of
different shapes.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Try out some of the Geometry activities on the
National Library of Virtual Manipulatives website.

Social Studies


We learned about natural resources and the
various goods that can be produced from them.
We also learned about some of the processes
used to create goods.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Look around your house for natural resources. Can you
think of any goods that could be made from it?
