Reading and Writing


We asked questions in order to gain a better
understanding of stories.
We worked with blends.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to develop two questions about a book
after reading it. Encourage them to use the following
words: who, what, when, where, why, how
Science


We excitedly observed our mealworms, which
have turned into darkling beetles!
We investigated animals native to Maryland.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Observe animals in your yard. Note which external
features help them to survive.



We continued to work with 2D and 3D shapes.
We compared and contrasted different shapes.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to go on a “shape hunt” to find 2D and 3D
shapes.
Social Studies


We learned that a good is something someone
makes or grows.
We discussed the correlation between goods
and services.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Have a conversation with your child about your job and
what services and/or goods are important to your
career.
