Reading and Writing


We used pictures to understand new vocabulary.
We talked about how glossaries help readers
learn the meanings of important words in a book.
Math


We worked with 2D shapes.
We discussed the attributes of different
shapes.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
While reading a non-fiction book with your child, ask
him/her to identify the glossary and learn a new word.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Give your child five different shapes. Ask your child to
put the shapes in order from the least number of sides
to greatest number of sides.

Social Studies


We continued to observe and discuss local
plants and animals.
We continued describing how external features
help animals thrive in their environment.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Look at pictures of local animals with a parent. Find
evidence of local animals around your home.


We identified and described jobs and the skills
required to hold these jobs.
We discussed making positive choices.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to identify jobs and where people work
by observing different buildings around town.
