Reading and Writing



We are writing to narrate a single event with a
beginning, middle, and end.
We are retelling familiar stories.
We are learning to use picture cues and context
clues to determine unknown words within a text.
Math


We are counting across decade numbers (by
10’s) to 100.
We are decomposing 5-10 into two numbers.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to determine the meaning of a
challenging vocabulary word using context clues.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Practice finding combinations of a given number (i.e. 6 is
2 and 3, 1 and 6, etc)

Social Studies

We compared how external features help plants
and animals survive in different environments.


Optional Enrichment Activities:
Look around your yard and compare the external
features of creatures and plants that you see.
We identified and described jobs in our
community.
We discussed the difference between needs
and wants.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to identify the needs and wants within
your family.
