We asked and answered questions about
illustrations and unknown words in texts.
We analyzed changing beginning, medial, and
final sounds in three phoneme words.

We counted by 10s and 5s and explored what it
means to skip count.
We began to practice decomposing numbers.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Before reading a book, ask your child to take a “picture
walk” and look at the illustrations in a book. Have your
child generate questions based on the illustrations.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to put objects in groups of ten and some
more ones. Have him or her count by tens then
describe the number as ___ tens and ____ more ones.
Can your child create different numbers using tens and
ones?

We began to work with live creatures in the
classroom!
We discussed habitats, needs for survival,
and life cycles.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to share his/her so far. Ask your child to
explain the life cycle.


We identified ways people adapt to the seasons.
We examined images to identify ways people
modify the environment.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to explain how we have adapted to these
last few cold winter weeks!
**We will be completing the reading assessments over the next few weeks. Therefore, reading
bags will not come home as frequently. Please keep reading at home!!**
