Reading and Writing


While reading different stories, we asked the
students to answer questions about key details
in the text.
We identified the roles of the author and
illustrator in a text.
Math


We discovered how to figure out what is “one
more” and “one less” than a number.
We continued to work with weight and
comparing numbers.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Ask your child to find the author and illustrator’s name
on the front cover and title page of any book! Ask your
child to identify the roles of the author and the
illustrator.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Gather random quantities of objects. Ask your child to
use a number line to determine what is one more or one
less than the quantities you created. Don’t have a
number line? Create one as a family!
Science
Social Studies


We discussed life cycles by identifying and
describing changes.
We started researching animals.
Optional Enrichment Activities:
Give your children baby pictures of themselves and ask
them to create a timeline. Have your children predict
what they will look like in five, ten, or fifteen years!
