This Month’s News!

different versions of stories, identify the character, setting, and plot and work on
discussing vocabulary and meaning. Students will work on recounting key details,
describing different points of view, and making connections. We will continue
asking and answering questions about character’s challenges and how they
respond to the challenge. We will also identify rhythm and meaning in poems
and describe the shades meaning of verbs found in texts. At the end of the
month, we will ask and answer questions about informational texts and use text
features to locate information.
In Math, we will compare three digit numbers ( < , >, and + ), count by 10s and
100s to 1000 and mentally calculate 10 more/less and 100 more/less to 1000. We
will also identify missing numbers in addition and subtraction number sentences.
Next, we will collect and organize data to create picture and bar graphs and
answer questions about our graphs. Please continue to have your child work on
strategies when adding basic facts!
