Math:
In math we will be subtracting and adding numbers with manipulatives (children are
not expected to memorize facts at this point). Please continue to practice counting
and writing to 120 starting at different numbers (count on from 23, or count backwards
from 15, etc).
PBIS: (Positive Behaviors Interventions and Supports)
This is a school-wide program at Greencastle to support students with their behavior
and learning skills. Students earn Castle Coupons when they demonstrate three
expected behaviors:
BE RESPECTFUL
BE RESPONSIBLE
BE READY TO LEARN.
Our new Castle Code of Character encourages students to make good choices
throughout the day, in order to earn their way up to the rank of king/queen. Please look
for your child’s “rank” each day.
King/Queen (K/Q)= I had a fantastic day!
Rook (R)= I did a good job today! There is still room for improvement.
Bishop (B)= I tried hard today! I will make better choices tomorrow.
Knight (K)= Today was tough. I can always turn it around tomorrow.
Pawn (P)= I took the first step. I will try harder tomorrow.
Special Events:
On October 15th we will be going on a field trip to the Pumpkin
