March is Here!! Spring is near!!
Kindergarten Orientation
Spring will soon be here. Your child will be
attending Kindergarten
Orientation sessions on May 13 or May 14, 2010. Glen Haven
home school student please contact Mrs.
Norton at (301) 649-8051 to schedule an appointment.
Students from different home schools will
go to their home schools for Kindergarten.
If your child is a
Dr. Seuss Day
Dr. Seuss’s birthday is March 2, 2010. We
plan to celebrate “Read Across America” Day
on March 3, 2010.
Students are encourage to bring books about
Dr. Seuss to school. We plan to have older
sisters and brothers come read to our students. Please have your child wear the color
RED on Tuesday. March 2, 2010.
Technology
The students are learning how to log on with
no assistance to our classroom computers.
These same eight digit numbers will be used
in kindergarten as well. Here are two websites
you can use at home: noggin.com and starfall.com. They help Pre-K students to practice
their ABCs and letter sounds.
Math
In math, students are learning how to sort
things that are either alike or different. You
can help by allowing them to help you sort the
laundry. For example, socks can be sorted by
colors. Finally, explain to your child that numbers have meaning. How many sets are in a number? Help your child count out pennies at home.
