Reminders


Book Exchange
Children are allowed to exchange their books
throughout the week. However, we have a
scheduled exchange on a particular day.
Mrs. Naismith – Tuesdays
Mrs. Stile – Fridays
Ms. Stroot – Fridays
Reading and Writing
This month our focus will be identifying the main
topic and key details in informational text.
In writing, we are adding details and closing
statements to narrative writing.


Check and empty your child’s folder
every night!
Sign your child’s behavior sheet and
return it on Monday.
Sign and return homework on Friday.
Guided reading books should be
returned the following day.
Winter Weather
Please send your child with appropriate
outerwear for outdoor recess every day. This
includes hats, gloves/mittens, and winter jackets.
We will go outside if the temperature is above
32 degrees.
In addition, please have your child dress in
layers for the classroom.
We have students with lost hats and gloves
every day. A strategy for helping your child to
keep track of these items is to have them put
their gloves in their hat and then put the hat in
the sleeve of their jacket.
Math
We will focus on problem solving and adding 3
digits (sums within 20). Students are expected
to demonstrate fluency for addition and
subtraction within 10. We have covered the

Supply Check
Please check with your child about the state of
their school supplies. At this time of year, the
children usually need crayons and pencils
replenished.
Donations
Teachers are in need of some supplies for the
classroom. Any donations are greatly
appreciated. Thank you!
 Tissues (It’s that time of year! We
have lots of runny noses.)
 EXPO dry erase markers
 Gallon size baggies.

Intercambio de libros
Los niños se les permite intercambiar
sus libros durante toda la semana.
Sin embargo, tenemos un intercambio
programado en un día en particular.

Lectura y escritura
Este mes nuestro enfoque será
identificar el tema principal y los
detalles claves en el texto informativo.
En la escritura, estamos agregando
detalles y cerrar declaraciones a la
escritura narrativa.
Mates
Nos centraremos en la resolución de
problemas y la adición de 3 dígitos
(sumas dentro de 20). Se espera que
los estudiantes demuestren la fluidez
de la suma y resta dentro de 10.
Hemos cubierto el
"De 10" hechos y dobles y dobles
más 1. Es muy bueno para la práctica
de estos en casa.
Recordatorios
• Compruebe y vacíe la carpeta de su
hijo todas las noches!
• Firmar hoja de comportamiento de
su hijo y devolverlo el lunes.
• Firmar y devolver la tarea el viernes.
• libros de lectura guiada se deben
devolver al día siguiente.
Clima invernal
Por favor envíe a su hijo con ropa de
abrigo adecuada para el recreo al aire
libre todos los días. Esto incluye
sombreros, guantes / guantes y
chaquetas de invierno.
Vamos a salir a la calle si la
temperatura está por encima de 32
grados.
Además, por favor tenga su vestido
de niño en capas para el aula.
Tenemos estudiantes con sombreros

el estado de sus útiles escolares. En
esta época del año, los niños por lo
general necesitan lápices de colores y
lápices de repuesto.
