Please SIGN your child’s assignment book every

To help your child get the most from homework, try
the following tips- your child may actually start
looking forward to it!

Help your child find a quiet place to work

Provide your child with materials he or she needs

Set a schedule, a routine will become habit

Show your child samples of his or her neatest
work

Have your child write questions to their teachers
if they’re confused
Curriculum News
Language Arts: Students are learning about nonfiction books. They learned that informational books
have text features which help you better understand
the content of a book. Text features include the
table of contents, index, glossary, and a variety of
other helpful techniques.
Math: We are now applying our addition and
subtraction strategies to solve and construct 2 step
word problems and solve for the area of different
figures. As well as create figures with a specified
area.
Science: Students observe and describe a way an
object’s motion changes in a variety of situations
and identify what may have caused that change.
Social Studies: Students examine the roles of
individuals, groups and leaders in a democratic
society. They consider rules, laws, and rights and the
responsibilities of citizens and government officials.

STOP working and sign off on your child’s work if the
assignment is taking too long (20 min. or more) or if
he/she is becoming frustrated.
