Second Grade September Newsletter
Dear 2nd Grade Parents,
Welcome to our second grade team! We are looking forward to working with your children throughout the
school year. Our school theme this year is “Lights, Camera, and Action!” We will be on top of our game and always
be ready to support you and your children. The second grade team plans to work as a team to support your child’s
strengths and abilities as they grow and learn this school year. This new school year should be a very exciting year for
all of us!
Reading : This month we are starting out by assessing
Math: We will work on number and operations in base
each student in his/her reading abilities. Then, we will
meet every student’s individual reading needs during
daily small-group reading instruction. We will read
stories to ask and answer questions, recall key details,
and understand characters. In addition, students will be
able to identify the story structure. Please have your
child read at least 30 minutes each night.
