Family Book Checkout
We have had a great start to
the new school year! We are
excited to continue this journey
with your children into the rest
of the school year. Every Tuesday, the Media Center will be
having a family book checkout from 3:25 to 4:00.
You and your family are invited to come to the media center to checkout library books. Every Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to exchange and
check out other books. Thank you for all of your
support!
A Peek at October Weeks

We will work on comprehension of informational and explanatory
texts by asking and answering questions in order to identify key

solution.
Math
We will work on using different strategies to count and represent
quantities. We will also practice recognizing quantities up to five
without having to count them.

and practice listening for the sounds that letters make in
order to be better readers and writers. You can help
your child by discussing (in your home language and/or
English) these topics for October: weather and seasons
and the clothing we wear and activities we do in different
weather and seasons, symbols of the U.S. (flag, eagle,
Statue of Liberty) counting, home safety and fire safety.

We will learn about symbols, practices, and leaders in the United
States.
Writing
We will begin to learn about narrative writing by drawing, dictating,
