A special “Thank You” to ALL of the parents who took time out of their busy

Reading

Wednesday, Feb 3 - Report card distribution
Parents please make sure your child completes his/her homework every day and brings it back every Friday! Students are
expected to read and complete their homework with a family
member. Please return completed homework on Fridays .
We will continue to work on comprehension of literary texts by
asking and answering questions in order to identify key details
such as; characters, setting, sequence of events, problem, and
solution. We will also focus on identifying the author and illustrator of a text. We will reinforce the use of punctuation ( a period at the end of a sentence and question marks).
Math
We will be working with measuring length and weight. We will
continue to work on writing numbers from 0 to 20 and counting
up to 30 objects arranged in different ways, ordering numbers,
and comparing numbers and sets using the words more, less,
greater, fewer, and equal.
Science
We will learn about the life cycle of plants and animals. We will
also learn about animal needs and animal life cycles. We will also
learn about their basic needs.
ESOL Nook
In December, ESOL students will be
using stories, chants, songs drama and
games to learn the vocabulary and language
structures which will help them master reading, math, science and social studies concepts.
Please continue to read and reread stories with your
child in your language and/or English and a conversation about the story.
