Dear 3rd Grade Parents,
We’re half way through the first marking period! Boy, how the
time flies! We hope you all are enjoying the cool weather as we
enter the Fall season.
3rd Grade Newsletter
October 2015
Interim reports are being sent home Monday, October 5th.
Please make sure you are checking communication folders several
times a week and Thursday folders every Thursday. It would be
very helpful if you could make sure to return Thursday folders the
next day.
The Claire’s Gourmet fundraiser is here! Students are bringing
home the fundraising packets October 1st. All orders are due
back in by Friday, October 23rd.

In the classroom…
Reading: Students will be reading non-fiction texts,
working to find the main idea and key details. They will
also practice asking and answering questions.

Scholastic Book Fair

Writing: Students are continuing to work on their
inquiry projects. They are researching ways to help the
common good, combining both informative and opinion
writing.
Early Dismissal – 12:55 pm
Math: Students will work briefly to find the area of
rectangles. They will then spend the rest of October
working on concepts related to multiplication.
Science: Students will continue to focus on force,
motion and gravity by comparing the speed and
distance of moving objects. They will also be practicing
