Dear Parents and Families,
We’re more than half way through the school year, and we are now in the middle
of quarter 3! We are so proud of our students and are excited about their progress! We have
been very busy! Keep working hard second graders 
Below is a preview of what we will be working on this next month.
Writing
Reading
Social Studies

In writing we
will continue
to write our
opinions
about
different
topics and
supporting
our opinions
with reasons.
In reading we will
be reading
poetry and
literature. We will
be able to
identify points of
view and story
elements through
poetry. We will
be able to ask
and answer
questions and
how characters
respond to their
challenges.
In Social
Studies we will
learn about
human,
natural, and
capital
resources to
produce goods
and services.
In Science
we will be
learning
about
habitats.
We will
continue to
learn about
the moon
and its
observable
properties.
In Math we will
continue to be
working on
measurement.
We will be
telling time to
the nearest 5
minutes and
learning about
fractions.
Engage in
meaningful
conversations
with your child
in whichever
language you
are most
comfortable
with. This will
help to
increase their
speaking in
English as well.
