Winter Break: No school on Thursday, December 24th through Friday, January 1.
School returns on Monday January 4.
Snuggle Up and Read Night will be Thursday, December 10th at 7:00PM. Please join
us for cookies and reading in your pajamas at the school!

Curriculum Highlights This Month!
Math: Students will continue to solve addition and subtraction
word problems as well as work on fluency with addition and
subtraction within 20 . We will use our doubles and doubles plus
one strategies as well as ‘fact families.’
Reading: Students will identify the characters, setting, problem
and solution in fictional texts.
Writing: Young authors will write opinion pieces about favorite
books.
Science: Students will be exploring the movement of objects and
exploring with magnets.
Social Studies: First graders will study the traditions and holidays
of different cultures.

What are your plans for the winter break?
Dwyer –I plan on visiting my family in New York!
Jones - I plan to bake cookies and spend time with my family :)
Denhard- singing, hanging out with my friends and family, and celebrating my New
Year’s Eve birthday!
Ranney- Relaxing with my family and HOPEFULLY playing in the snow!
Demers- Spending time with my twins and visiting my family in New York!
Ludgin-We are taking our daughters to Disney World!
Miranda- I plan on spending more time with friends and family!
