Presidential Award 2.0
Criteria for Presidential Awards
The criteria for Presidential Awards include report card grades from
both Grade 4 and three marking periods of Grade 5.
For all marking periods in Grade 4 and the first three marking periods
of Grade 5, students must earn report card final grades of all
Proficient (P) and at least two Exceptional at the Grade Level Standard
(ES). We will allow up to 2 report card grades of in progress (I).
* Fifth Grade, Marked Improvement Exception:
Zero Report Card I’s in Fifth Grade and at least 2 ES’s
Writing Component:
For writing each quarter of Fifth Grade, we will only count the
category being taught in Lucy Calkins:
 Q1: Narrative
 Q2: Informative
 Q3: Opinion
