(Analysis of Variance) and T-test were used.
• ANOVA (Analysis of Variance)
Relationship between each advising subject and students’ characteristics
(Division, Admission Type, Academic Marks)
T-test
Relationship between each advising subject and students’ characteristics
(Sex, Enrollment State, Major Determination)

conclusion
s
The 17th International Conference on the First-Year
 Academic advising for first-year students needs to focus on
guiding them to explore their major and career, helping them adjust
to campus life and supporting them financially.
 Academic advising for first-year students should be specified
according to their characteristics to improve their satisfaction of
academic advising and their college life success.
 Future studies need to investigate first-year students’ perceptions
and needs for academic advising by interviewing and questioning
them more comprehensively.
