Principal’s Message
LIONS, AND TIGERS, AND BEARS, OH MY! Rumor
has it that by tonight at 5:30 p.m., Rock Creek
Valley will be transformed into the Emerald City
of Oz. Parents, students, family and friends are
invited to share in the fun at our Annual Silent
and Live Auction. There will be games, moon
bounce, cookie decorating, a life-size Wizard of
Oz Games, food, raffles movies and much, more.
A magical evening is awaiting for everyone who
attends.

Dismissal Procedures
Our new dismissal procedure of using numbers is
working well. We realized the numbers are
becoming frayed. Duplicate numbers will be
available
on
request in the next
few weeks. We
will put a note in
the newsletter to
give you a specific
date. The staff has
become more efficient in carrying out this task
and pick up moves very quickly. We want to
remind parents to pick-up promptly at 3:30 p.m.,
do not leave your car for any reason and of
course, have your number visible. If you are
unable to pick up your child on time due to an
emergency, please call the office and let them
know. If you arrive past 3:40 p.m., you need to
pick up your student in the office.

Helping to Protect Our Environment
Reminder - We are always looking for ways to
improve our environment We will be cutting
back on our paper use. This would mean that the
weekly Eagle’s Eye would be posted each week
on the RCV website while a limited number of
paper copies would be available upon request in
the front office. We are targeting January 2014
for this change, but want to make sure that
everyone is prepared and ready. If you DO NOT
have internet access at home, please let the
office know by completing the bottom portion of
this week’s newsletter and returning it to
school. This will be critical information to inform
us of how many families may need access to
printed copies of the newsletter after we make
this transition. If you have any further ideas
about how we can increase our efforts to reduce,
reuse, and recycle here at RCV; please let us
know.
