Principal’s Message
This year’s auction fundraiser was a
HUGE success! On Friday evening,
RCV truly did become the land of
Oz with colorful decorations, lots of
fun activities, wonderful treasures
for sale, and very generous parents
& staff who gave of their time,
talents, and money to support our
school. A special thank you goes
out to the members of our auction
committee who helped with the
planning for this event: Tara
Lawrence,
Beth
Molek,
Julia
Bialeski, David Goodman, and Hagai
Golan. Because of everyone’s hard
work and generosity, we raised over
$10,000.00 which will support our
local summer school and fund
additional
technology
purchases. Our
first
purchase
will
be
for
additional
lap
top
computers
to be used in all
our classrooms.
This will be a
great benefit to our instructional
program and will allow more students
to
utilize technology as part of their
daily instructional program. Thanks
again
to
everyone
for
their
participation and support of this
annual event! Look for all the lucky
winners on the RCV Webiste. They
will be posted on Friday.
Important Information for Walkers
It is very busy on Russett Road during arrival
and dismissal at school. There are people
headed to or coming home from work, parents
picking up or dropping off their children. This
creates a great deal of traffic. We are most
concerned with our walkers. The crossing guard
has witnessed many near accidents because of
a parent or student not using the crosswalks or
obeying simple traffic rules. Our crossing guard
is there to ensure the safety of our parents,
visitors, and above all our students. She needs
our support in helping her to do this

Fun Family Things To Do on Thanksgiving

Everyone in your family can work up an appetite for
your Turkey Day feast by participating in a
community walk or run. There's probably a "turkey
trot" or two in your area, and the registration funds
raised typically benefit a good cause.


Families have enjoyed watching the Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV since 1948 (and the
parade was first held in 1924). Watching giant balloons, floats, and marching bands roll
through the streets of New York City with your kids is a cozy and magical way to start the
holiday.

Give Thanks in your own way. This is really what it's all about: Giving thanks for family,
friends, the holiday feast, and other good fortune. Relatives and guests can give thanks for
something verbally at the dinner table, write and exchange Thanksgiving thank-you cards, or
find another unique way to give thanks. Showing gratitude in some way will help children
learn about the true spirit of Thanksgiving.
