Principal’s Message
Memorial Day is upon us and I have been thinking about all the memories created here at RCV over the
years. In thinking about this, and realizing that the final days of school will be here in the blink of an eye,
I want to suggest that you think about taking a few minutes with your child this week-end and write your
child's teacher a Memorial Day card sharing one or two (or many) good memories that they have created
over the course of the school year -- this could be something fun they did in class, a particular mannerism
or phrase that their teacher uses that will always be remembered, or something they are thankful for. I
know that teachers enjoy hearing personal thoughts and ideas from children and would love to get some
Memorial Day cards sharing personal remembrances from the year when everyone returns from the long
week-end.
Popsicles at Lunch
Ms. Katie and Ms. Williamson would like to celebrate our retirement with the students at lunch
on Monday, June 9. We will be providing popsicles for all students. If for some reason your
child should not have a popsicle, please let us know and we can provide an alternative for
them.
RCV Carnival
We are still in need of volunteers to help with the 4th annual RCV
Carnival! Please consider volunteering by signing up using signup genius. We'll need volunteers to be available from 5:30 until
8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30th. Free dinner provided to all
volunteers. We have 16 games planned, a moon bounce, obstacle
course, face painting, dunk tank, great carnival food, fun prizes,
karaoke, and a balloon artist. Pick where you'd like to help - if you are having trouble using the
sign up genius, let me know at [email protected] and I will get you started and get
you signed up.
This is the PTA's largest fundraiser of the year, but we need lots
of help pulling this off.
YEARBOOKS ARE HERE-LIMITED AMOUNT AVAILABLE
The Yearbooks have arrived and were distributed today to all students who had presale orders. There
are approximately 30 yearbooks left to purchase. You can still purchase a yearbook. The cost is $18.00
If you need an order form they are available in the main office. Don’t delay—they sell
quickly.
Field Day
Field Day will be held on June 2nd. We are still looking for
volunteers to help make it a big success. Anyone who is interested
should contact the main office at RCV, or email Kathy Amos at

D/HOH Preschool Promotion Ceremony
The promotion ceremony for D/HOH Preschool will be held on Tuesday, June 10 from
9:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. All parents are welcome to attend.
All Student Books are due May 30th
It’s time to check all the special places that children safely stash their library books. As
we prepare for the inventory, all student books are due in the Media Center by Friday,

Last Chance for Lost and Found
Soon, the school year will be over and any remaining items in our clothing lost and found will be
donated to a charity and/or used in our health room for students needing a change of clothes
during the school day. If you believe your child has lost an item of clothing at school, please
check the lost and found (coat hooks inside and outside of the all-purpose room) before the final
day of school. Also, if any parents are willing to volunteer to wash lost items left after the final
day of school, please let the front office know.

Mensaje de la Directora
El Día de los Caídos esta sobre nosotros y hemos estado pensando sobre todos los recuerdos creados aqui
en RCV durante todos estos años. Pensando en esto, y dándome cuenta que los últimos días de la escuela
estarán aqui en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, quiero sugerirles que piensen unos minutos con su niño este fin
de semana y escriban una tarjeta del Día de los Caidos al profesor de su niño, compartiendo uno o dos (o
muchos) buenos recuerdos que ellos han creado durante el curso de este año escolar – esto puede ser,
algo divertido que se hizo en clase, un particular gesto o frase que su profesor usa y que siempre será
recordado, o algo de lo que ellos están agradecidos. Sé que los profesores disfrutarán escuchando
pensamientos personales e ideas de los niños y les encantaría tener algunas tarjetas del Día de los Caídos,
intercambiando recuerdos personales del año cuando cada uno retorne del fin de semana largo.
Paletas en el Almuerzo
La Sra. Katie y la Sra. Williamson les gustaría celebrar su retiro con los estudiantes en la hora del
almuerzo el Lunes, 9 de Junio. Ellas estarán repartiendo paletas para todos los estudiantes. Si
por alguna razón su niño no puede tener una paleta, por favor háganoslo saber y nosotros
podemos proveer algo alternativo para ellos.
Carnaval de RCV
Todavía estamos necesitando voluntarios para ayudar con el 4to
Carnaval Anual de RCV! Por favor considere ser voluntario registrándose
usando Sign-up Genius. Necesitaremos voluntarios que estén
disponibles de 5:30 hasta las 8:00 p.m. el Viernes, 30 de Mayo. Cena
gratis se proveerá a todos los voluntarios. Tenemos 16 juegos planeados:
una colchoneta saltarina, una carrera de obstáculos, caritas pintadas,
tanque de agua, grandiosa comida de carnaval, premios divertidos, karaoke y un artista de globos. Escoja
dónde le gustaría ayudar- si Usted tiene problemas de usar Sign Up Genius, hágamelo saber y le ayudaré
a registrarse.
Esta es la recaudación de fondos más grande del año del PTA,
pero necesitamos de mucha ayuda para poder llevarlo a cabo.
LOS ANUARIOS ESTAN AQUI Y TENEMOS UN LIMITADO NUMERO DISPONIBLE
Los Anuarios han arribado y fueron distribuidos hoy a todos los estudiantes quienes ordenaron durante la
pre-venta. Hay aproximadamente 30 anuarios que quedan en venta. Usted puede todavía comprar un
anuario. El costo es de $18.00

Ceremonia de Gradución de los Pre-escolares de D/HOH
La ceremonia de graduación de los pre-escolares de D/HOH se llevará a cabo el Martes,
10 de Junio de 9:30 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Todos los padres estan bienvenidos a asistir.
Todos los libros de los estudiantes deben ser devueltos hasta el 30 de mayo
Es hora de buscar en los lugares especiales donde los niños esconden sus libros de la
biblioteca. En tanto nos preparamos para el inventario, todos los libros de los
estudiantes deben ser devueltos a la Biblioteca (Media Center) el Viernes, 30 de
Mayo.
Ultimo chance para “Perdido y Encontrado”
Pronto, el año escolar se termina y todos los artículos que se quedaron en nuestro “Perdido y
Encontrado” de ropa será donado a la caridad y/o usado en nuestra enfermería para los
estudiantes que necesiten cambio de ropa durante el año escolar. Si usted cree que su niño ha
perdido una prenda de ropa en la escuela, por favor chequee “Perdido y Encontrado” (hay un
gancho de abrigos dentro y fuera del Cuarto de Todo Propósito) antes del último día de la
escuela. También, si algún padre está disponible en lavar los artículos perdidos después del
último día de la escuela, por favor hágalo saber en la oficina de la escuela.
