The 2015-16 school year has begun and we are thrilled to
be part of the Rock Creek Valley family. We are
committed to ensuring all our students are safe, happy,
and achieving at high levels.
We enjoyed meeting so many of our families at Open
House and Back to School Night. Thank you to our
amazing PTA for our welcome back staff lunch and Back to
School Night dinner. Our PTA does so many wonderful
things for our staff and students, and RCV wouldn’t be the
amazing place that it is without their leadership. Please
join the PTA to help continue the support of our staff and
students.
We look forward to a great school year of working
together to ensure success for all our students.

Important Information
Arrival Procedures
• If your child is a car rider in the morning, please drop them off at the gym entrance. Staff and patrols will be there
to greet them and help them in the building. Please avoid getting out of your car to assist your child because this
causes the traffic to increase heavily. We will be more than happy to assist the student.
• Doors open at 9:10 and the students are dismissed to their classes at 9:15.
• Starting next week, we are asking parents to avoid walking your child down to the classroom. Give them a hug
and kiss and we can help support them if they are having difficulty.
Attendance
• Students need to be in the school by 9:25 AM to avoid being marked tardy (late).
• If your child is absent, a note must be sent in when your child returns. If a note is not received, the absence will be
marked as unexcused.
• For the safety and supervision of students, students cannot be signed out after 3:30 in the main office.
Cafeteria
• Lunch guests must sign in at the office and receive a guest sticker. We must have a note in advance for anyone
other a parent or guardian requesting to have lunch with a student (Grandparents, etc.).
• Please consider pre-paying for lunches. This can be done for a few meals, the month, or the year.
• Breakfast available daily.
Student Dress
• Please make sure students are dressed appropriately and comfortably for learning.
• Student dress should not be a distraction to the student or other students.
• Appropriate shoes should be worn daily. Students will be going outside daily for recess and PE.
• Coats during the cold months.

Dismissal Procedure
• Please contact the office and your child’s teacher if there is a change in dismissal. This is critical in helping us get
them to the correct location.
• If your child is a walker or car rider, please review their number with them to help expedite our dismissal
procedure.
