Over 350 people came out to enjoy time together and raise money for the school. Events like this remind us how lucky we are to be part of the RCV community! When preparing for a large event, it takes a lot of hands and effort to ensure the event is successful. Words cannot express how thankful we are to the following parents for their time and dedication in making the auction a successful event. Many thanks go out to the auction committee: Vivian Byrd David Goodman Michelle Levit Jennifer Eig-Simmons Queenie DeVaul Melanie Breslyn Carol Hart Hagai Golan In addition, thank you to all of the parents who helped decorate, set-up, clean up, volunteered during the event, donated items, and much more…… Thank you to the RCV staff for donating their time so we can have amazing raffle items for the kids to win. We were able to raise over $9,000 to give back to the school and community!!!! We will send a list out shortly of those auction items that still have not been picked up. Have a great weekend! Kevin Burns and Gregg Baron Important Information RCV is a Finalist in Click for Kids contest! We entered RCV in WTOP’s Click for Kids contest to win $20,000 to develop a "lightbulb lab" so students can develop critical and creative thinking skills using STEM processes for our school. We have been selected to move into the online voting portion of the contest. Woohooo! This is where we need everyone’s help. The school with the most votes wins the contest. Please forward the following link to family, friends, and colleagues. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY!!!!!!!!!! Anyone over the age of 13 can vote (that’s a legal thing) – kids, parents, grandparents, neighbors, you name it. You can vote one time per person/per email (so you CAN vote twice if you have, for example, a work email and a Gmail account). Please vote for Rock Creek Valley at: http://wtop.com/click-for-kids-voting/ Box Tops End of February is the deadline to turn in Top Box. Please bring them in if you have any. Thanks!
