What can we play on the blacktop during
recess?
We can play:
 Basketball, Knockout

Jump rope

Hula hoop

Hoppity Hop

Hopscotch

Four square
How can we make sure we are safe
while we play on the blacktop?

Use the jump rope for jumping. Do not swing it
around for fun.

Do not throw balls at the wall or other people.

Make sure you are not running through the middle
of the games that are being played.

Do not play tag or chasing games. They are not
allowed on the blacktop.

Leave rocks and any dangerous objects on the
ground. If you find something dangerous, tell an
adult.
What can we play on the field
during recess?

We can participate in activities that have
been taught by the P.E. teacher for our
grade level.

We can play kickball, wiffle ball, tag
(without touch), and soccer.
How can we make sure we are safe
while we play on the field?

Follow the rules of the games that you are playing.

Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Tackling and
wrestling is not allowed while playing on the field.

Do not play tag that involves touching.Your hands
need to be to yourself.


ground. If you find something dangerous, tell an
adult.
How do we play safely on the
playground equipment?

Form a single file line and take turns on all
of the equipment.

Wait until the student ahead of me has
crossed all of the monkey bars.

Do not sit on top of equipment such as
the monkey bars, rock wall, or jungle gym.
What else can we do during recess?

Draw with chalk.

Talk with friends.

It is important to listen to the adults in charge at
recess so that you are safe.

If something happens to you and you need an
help, please tell an adult on the playground
immediately.

Please bring in all of your belongings from the
playground.

It is important to follow the rules so that you and
your friends do not get hurt.
Clean up:

At the end of recess, everyone is responsible for
cleaning up the equipment. Please do your part to help
clean up.

At the end of 2nd and 3rd grade recess. The 3rd graders
are in charge of making sure all of the equipment is
cleaned up. The schedule below is the day each class is
responsible for:
