LOGISTICS ACTIVITIES AFFECTING OTHER NATIONS
a) McMurdo airstrip will be used by Italian and New Zealand C-130s and Italian
Twin Otters
b) McMurdo Heliport will be used by New Zealand and Italian helicopters
c) Extensive air, sea and land logistic cooperative support with New Zealand
d) Twin Otters and Basler to pass through Rothera (UK) upon arrival and departure
from Antarctica
e) Italian Twin Otter will likely pass through South Pole and McMurdo.
f) The USAP and Antarctica New Zealand (ANZ) along with the U.K., Italy and
Germany will operate the ANDRILL scientific drilling program.
g) South Pole will support IceCube, an international collaboration including the
US, Germany, and Sweden.
h) Swedish icebreaker ODEN will carry a team of U.S., Swedish and Chilean
scientists from Punta Arenas to McMurdo.
