Discussion of the Chicano Studies CUrriculum Proposed for
Sections A and B of the Multicultural Requirement for Teaching
Credential Candidates
At its September 3, 1986 meeting, EPC approved new criteria for
sections A and B of the Multicultural Requirement for Teaching
Credential Candidates. Effective Fall 1988, all courses in
sections A and B must meet the new criteria.
Discussion of the nine Chicano Studies course proposals for
Sections A and B of the Multicultural Requirement dealt primarily
with the Conunittee's inability to discern the appropriateness of
the proposals based on the materials provided by the deparbnent.
It was suggested that the deparbnent revise its paperwork
accordingly and resubmit the same Multicultural course proposals
as soon as possible for consideration by the Conrrnittee during an
October 1987 meeting when all Multicultural Credential courses
will be considered.
