Precise BioMatch™ J is a Java applet that makes fingerprint matching on any Java smart
card possible (Match-on-Card). The applet is designed to meet time requirements for
fingerprint verification on the smart card chip.
At any point of the lifecycle—production, personalization or any time after issuance,
Precise BioMatch™ J can be loaded on any Java smart card, which allows for flexible
introduction of biometrics in an installed card base.
Precise BioMatch™ J is implemented according to the JCF Biometry API, which ensures
interoperability among different cards and Java applet. Moreover, it is compatible with all
Precise BioMatch™ enabled readers, terminals and applications.
With Precise BioMatch™ J it is possible to use fingerprints where PINs earlier were
required. By storing and matching the fingerprint directly on the card, users never need
to feel concerned that their fingerprints could be stolen or abused. The user’s integrity
always remains intact because the fingerprint is never stored in a database beyond the
individual’s control.
