I’m the Principal investigator (PI) or co-PI on various studies and responsible for directing
many day-to-day activities of members of a research team that includes graduate students and
undergraduates. My duties include collection, organization, technical analysis of data;
interpreting results and identifying engineering issues based on statistical analysis; writing
technical reports summarizing conclusions and recommendations. Typical projects include, but
are not limited to, application of GPS to travel time and delay measurements; capacities of
various freeway work zone lane closure configurations; traffic operational and safety
evaluation; multi-modal studies involving interactions between vehicular, transit, bicycle, and
pedestrian traffic; intersection and corridor improvement studies; signal phasing and timing
optimization studies; micro-simulation modeling, etc.

implementation of research outcomes: follow up on all research and development projects that

submitting proposals; identify a potential partner/project manager at DelDOT; supervises the
collection of data and information for travel time and delay using GPS and gives a data
summary sheet and Geographic information System (GIS) database; teach Synchro and Vissim
simulation software to undergraduate students; review conference/journal papers; review
proposals.
