Important Notes Upgrading VMware Tools This process of upgrading VMware tools is applicable only for Unified Intelligence Center Systems running on Unified Communications System virtualized hardware. VMware Tools are specialized drivers for virtual hardware that are installed in the Unified Communications (UC) applications when they are running in the virtualized environment. The VMware tools version running in the UC application must be in sync with the version of ESXi being used. The methods that the UC applications use to upgrade the VMware Tools are given in the UCS Virtualization Wiki. Cisco Unified Intelligence Center supports upgrading VMware Tools using the command: utils vmtools upgrade.
