What is the approach?
Each unit begins with a video introduction where a teacher explains a challenge learners will face
("No matter what subject you study, you’ll have a mountain of books and articles to read...") and
students give their own views based on their own experiences. The unit then takes learners
through a series of teaching points and interactive activities, helping them to develop the skills
and strategies they need to meet this challenge.
How is the new version different?
There are two new units on Independent Learning and Critical Thinking. There is more extensive
use of authentic texts: articles, book blurbs, websites, a BBC lecture... And each unit has been
comprehensively enhanced and extended based on feedback from the hundreds of schools and
universities already using Study Skills Success.
How can I use it?
The program is ideal as a self access resource or as integrated classwork or homework
components of a taught course, where it can (optionally) be delivered through Blackboard,
Moodle or other VLEs.
