Breastfeeding Reports HuBERT Report Name: Summary Statistics Breastfeeding CLN032 Report Topics: Frequency: Breastfeeding, Participation Monthly Access/Where to find: HuBERT AgencyEOM and StateEOM Filezilla/FTP sites: Minnesota Reports folder (“SummaryStatisticsReport-Breastfeeding.PDF”) Description: This report is run during the End of Month (EOM) process. It is a statewide report providing WIC Breastfeeding initiation and duration measures. Totals are accumulated for each Agency and Clinic; it also displays totals for the state. There are three sections to this report: Breastfed Ever, Breastfed Ever & Currently Breastfeeding, and When Breastfeeding Stopped (Infants in Third Month of Life). Criteria and Filters: • • • • • Fully BF infants <6 months old are included and counted in the clinic in which his/her linked mother received benefits. (This criterion changed in February, 2014.) Counts are based on the participation date (Printed First Date to Use). Participants are only counted once per month. Participants are not counted if all of their benefits were voided. “ I/C of WIC ppt>= 3 mo during preg“ – a calculation is used to determine that the number of days between the earliest Certification Effective Date for mom’s pregnancy and the infant’s Date of Birth is greater than or equal to 90 days; this requires a link between the records. “Unknown” and “Incomplete” are excluded from totals and percentages, but counts are listed on the report for reference. o Unknown = if “Unknown” is selected for Ever Breastfed in the Health Information screen or the formula o Incomplete = infant or child where there is no selection for Ever Breastfed (Breastfeeding Information section not completed with an Out-of-State Transfer/VOC) Some possible purposes for this report: • • • • • Review rates and trends regarding breastfeeding initiation and duration, including longer participation in WIC during pregnancy. Identify when participants are most likely to stop breastfeeding during the first three months of an infant’s life. Plan anticipatory guidance, education and key times for support. Plan and share information with breastfeeding coalitions, hospitals, boards, and grant funders to help support breastfeeding. Compare agency’s rates to state and national goals.
