1. Liberty enters the final weeknd of the 2016 regular season, looking to extend a four-game winning
streak. Its longest winning streak of the year is five games.
2. The Flames had their final midweek contest of the regular season rained out at Radford, Tuesdy. This
past weekend, Liberty swept a three-game Big South series from Radford at LIberty Baseball Stadium.
3. With four straight victories to close out its regular season home schedule, Liberty finished 2016 with an
18-11 record at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
4. Thursday's meeting between High Point and Liberty will be the first meeting between the two teams at
Coy O. Willard Stadium since a three-game Big South series, March 22-23, 2013. Six out of the last seven
meetings have come at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The other meeting came at the 2015 Big South Baseball
Championship at John Henry Moss Stadium in Boiling Springs, N.C. on May 19. It was the last one contest
between the two teams.
5. Shortstop Dalton Britt, who has started every game of his Liberty career, is expected to tie the program
record for games played, Friday. Britt will tie Trey Wimmer (2009-14) with 235 games played.
6. First baseman Andrew Yacyk was named the Big South Player of the Week for games played May 9-15.
Yacyk was 6-for-11 (.545) and posted a team-high on-base percentage of .643 during the week.

• 1B/OF Andrew Yacyk was selected as the Big South Player of the Week for May 9-15. Yacyk posted at
least one double in each of the Liberty's four victories last week and closed the week 7-for-15 (.467) with
eight RBI and four runs scored, as he totaled five doubles.
• In Liberty's series against Radford this past weekend, Yacyk was 6-for-11 (.545) and posted a team-high
on-base percentage of .643.
• In Liberty's 11-5 win over Radford on Friday night, Yacyk posted his fourth contest of the season with
four or more RBI. The next day, he drove in three runs in the Flames' 7-2 victory over the Highlanders.
• Yacyk was named to the 2016 Academic All-District 3 team selected by the College Sports Information
Directors of America on May 5.
• Yacyk is tied for seventh nationally and third in the Big South with 21 doubles. He is also tied for eighth
with 109 total bases and fifth with 45 RBI.
• OF D.J. Artis had at least two hits in all four of Liberty's games, last week. The OF collected three hits,
scoring a run and driving in a run in Liberty's 11-5 win over Radford, Friday.
• Artis leads the Big South and is among the national leaders with a .516 on base percentage. He leads
Liberty and is second in the conference in batting average (.381) and walks (48). He is tied for second
in hits (74) . He is also third in stolen bases (22) and tied for fifth in runs scored (47) in the conference.
• 3B Eric Grabowski went 3-for-4 with seven RBI and scored three times in the contest. All three of his hits
went for extra bases. The third baseman hit his third home run of the season, a grand slam, and had two
doubles on the afternoon, to post his single game career-high for RBI. Grabowski's previous game-high
was two RBI, which he previously reached three times, this season.
• 2B Andrew Kowalo had two hits in the contest, including his fifth home run of the season in the eighth
inning in the Flames' 7-2 win over Radford, Saturday.
• Kowalo had two hits, including a three-run home run, his fourth of the season, in Liberty’s 10-7 win at
William & Mary, April 27 . He tied a career-high with three RBI.
• Pitcher Jack DeGroat evened his record at 3-3 on the season in Liberty's 7-2 win over Radford, Saturday.
The right-hander gave up two runs on eight hits over 6 2/3-plus innings. He struck out a career-high
seven and walked two.
• Pitcher Jordan Scott allowed only one runner over the first six innings, surrendering one hit, before
leaving in the seventh in Liberty's win over Radford, Sunday. The performance earned the right-hander
his first win as a Flame. He gave up four runs on four hits over six-plus innings of work, his longest outing
of 2016. He struck out three and walked one.
• C Payton Scarbrough and DH Josh Latta each went 3-for-4 and posted their second three-hit game of
the season, helping Liberty defeat Old Dominion, May 11. Scarbrough also doubled and scored twice,
while Latta had a double and drove in a run.
• RHP Jon Letchworth retired the side in order in the eighth to record his first collegiate win, May 11
against Old Dominion. RHP Carson Herndon followed with a 1-2-3 inning of his own in the ninth for his
third save of the year in the 7-6 victory.
• RHP Shane Quarterley leads the Flames in appearances with 26 and is currently, tied for third in the Big
South in the category. Quarterley is also third in the conference with six saves.
• Britt started his 200th consecutive game in the first game of Liberty's doubleheader against Kent State
on March 19. Britt has now started 232 straight games. The senior has started every Liberty contest
since joining the Flames in 2012. He is on pace to break Trey Wimmer's (2009-14) career record of
235 games played in the fi nal regular season game at High Point, May 20.

Yacyk Named Big South Player of the Week
• First baseman/outfielder Andrew Yacyk has been named the Big
South Conference Baseball Player of the Week for May 9-15.
• The junior posted at least one double in each of the Liberty’s four
victories last week, capped off by a 2-for-3 performance with a pair
of doubles in Liberty’s 14-8 win over Radford in the series finale on
Sunday.
• The Hagerstown, Md., native closed the week 7-for-15 (.467) with
eight RBI and four runs scored, as he totaled five doubles. In the
series with the Highlanders, he was 6-for-11 (.545) and posted a
team-high on-base percentage of .643.
• In Liberty’s 11-5 win over Radford on Friday night, Yacyk posted
his fourth contest of the season with four or more RBI in a contest.
The next day, he drove in three runs in the Flames’ 7-2 victory over
the Highlanders.
• Yacyk was selected to the 2016 NCAA Division I Academic All-District 3 baseball team selected by
the College Sports Information Directors of America on May 5. He holds a 3.69 GPA in biomedical
studies.

program record of 235 games played on Friday. Wimmer played
for the Flames from 2009-14.
• He enters weekend contest having started 232 consecutive games.
• Britt started his 200th straight contest, March 19. The Greenville,
N.C. native made the milestone start in the first game of the doubleheader against Kent State.
• The senior has started every game since joining the Flames in 2013,
playing mostly at shortstop. In 2014, he played several games at
third base early in the season, before moving back to shortstop.
