in New York City!
Wednesday, July 9
Eco Tour with NYC Audubon
10:30am-12:00pm
Departing from South Street Seaport
We will cruise the East River on a NYC Water Taxi, while learning about the birds
of New York Harbor including Cormorants, Herons, and Peregrine Falcons!
Thursday, July 10
Snapshot Day Training with NYS DEC
10:00am-4:00pm
Location: West Side Pier TBA
Led by Chris Bowser, Science Educator from the NYS Department of
Environmental Conservation, this hands-on workshop will explain how and why we
test water quality, and prepare teachers to participate with their classes in a day of
water quality data collection in the fall. Space is limited and priority will be given to
classroom teachers. Bring a brown bag lunch; drinks will be provided.
Saturday, July 12
Tour of NY Sunworks Science Barge
9:00am-12:00pm
Riverside Park (West 68th Street and the Hudson River)
Visit the barge, a sustainable urban farm powered by solar, wind, and biofuels, and
irrigated by rainwater and purified river water, to learn about growing food in the city
with no carbon emissions, no net water consumption, and no waste stream.
All events are free and open to the public. Please RSVP to

space is limited. Include your name, phone, affiliation, and
event(s) attending. A confirmation will be forthcoming.
All events are held rain or shine. Dress for the outdoors.
