This release resolves caveat CSCdw63248. Note Do not install firmware version 8.24_2 on Cisco Aironet workgroup bridges. Version 8.24_2 is for 340, 500, and 4800 series wireless bridges and 4800 series access points only. OL-2382-01 System Requirements System Requirements You must have a 340, 500, or 4800 series bridge or a 4800 series access point to install firmware version 8.24_2. Version Supported Your bridge or access point must have version 7.0 or later to upgrade to version 8.24_2. Upgrading to a New Firmware Release Determining the Firmware Version The firmware version number appears in the top left corner of the screen in the browser-based management system. To view the browser-based management system, type the device’s IP address in your Internet browser’s address line. Upgrade Procedure Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware in your bridge or access point: Step 1 Use one of the following URLs to find firmware version 8.24_2: http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/aironet-4800 or http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/aironet-340 2 Step 2 In the Filename column, click [firmware version 8.24_2]. Follow the instructions for saving the file to your local drive. Step 3 Use an Internet browser to open the management system on the bridge or access point. To browse to the management system, type the bridge’s or access point’s IP address in the browser’s address line and press Enter. Step 4 When the management system opens, click Allow Config Changes in the top left corner of the page. Step 5 Click Load in the Diagnostics column near the top of the page. Step 6 In the Value column, click Browse. Find the local drive where you saved the new firmware version and select the firmware file. Step 7 Click Send. The new firmware is loaded and the bridge or access point reboots. Resolved Caveats The following caveats have been resolved in firmware version 8.24_2: • Resolved:CSCdw63248. An error can occur with management protocol processing.
