Computer Centre
Established in 1963 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government
of Rajasthan, the Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur started functioning
from its temporary campus at Pilani with 30 students each in Electrical Engineering and
Mechanical Engineering. The college shifted to Jaipur in 1965. The great visionary, Prof.
V.G. Garde, as its first Principal, moulded its destiny, with his characteristic lean, into a
renowned Institute.
The effort to maintain the high standard and committed approach of the Institute to the
cause of technical excellence was recognized by the Ministry for Human Resource Development and University Grants Commission, New Delhi which granted it the status of
a National Institute of Technology and Deemed University on June 26, 2002. It is one of
the 30 NIT’s established in different states of the country. Governed by the NIT Council,
the Institute has four statutory bodies, namely, the Board of Governors, the Finance
Committee, the Building and Works Committee and the Senate. The Institute is fully
funded by MHRD, the Government of India, New Delhi.
Spread over 317 acres of lush greenery, the campus of MNIT enthralls and inspires. The
Institute is actively engaged in research, consultancy and developmental activities and
collaborates with leading industrial houses and IT companies in various projects.Quality
Policy MNIT shall strive to impart knowledge in such a manner as to achieve a total
satisfaction of students, parents, employers, and the society.

The Institute has a spacious and well equipped
library which is being run according to an open
access system. It has rich collection of about
1,33,600 volumes of books, periodicals, reports
and reference material. In addition to the books
from main library, some more books are issued to
students from book bank also. There is a video
viewing facility. Large number of books,
periodicals, video cassettes and CD-ROMs are available. The library is being fully computerized.

Sports
Adequate facilities are available for sports and games and for co- curricular activities. The
campus is well laid out with roads, electrical installations, water supply and underground
drainage system etc.
Bank
There is a branch of the ICICI Bank Ltd. in the campus. Other reputed banks such as SBI,
and PNB etc. are within walking distance from the institute campus.
Post-Office
There is a Post Office in the campus of MNIT.
Medical Facilities
A full-fledged Dispensary is available in the campus. It is supervised by a residential Medical Officer. The services of a part-time Homeopathy Doctor and a Lady Doctor are also
available to students and to the family members of the staff.
DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES
The Department of Management Studies was started in the year 1996 as a Centre of
Management Studies and Industrial Collaboration under self-finance scheme. Since then,
DMS has been playing a seminal role in the growth of corporate sector and management
education in India. We groom future business leaders by following a judicious blend of
theory and practice, using highly innovative teaching pedagogy. The Department offers
flagship MBA and Doctoral programmes. It offers regular two year full-time Postgraduate
degree in Management to graduate engineers, architects, pharmacists and commerce
graduates. During last 18 years, around 700 students have completed their MBA from this
Department. The Department also offers full-time and part-time Doctoral programme in
Management.

Malaviya National Institute of Technology is one of the premier educational institutes of India.
The MBA program offered by the Department of Management Studies is designed to provide
quality management education and imparts value in grooming future managers. The institute
seeks to reach the zenith of excellence and strives to become the leader in its endeavour of
imparting quality management education.
Our endeavour has been to develop an ideal business school, one that will blend business
practices with conceptual understanding that will advance the evolution of strategies which
will be best suited to promote a vibrant business and working environment even in underprivileged and under-managed sectors. What we are aiming at is a business school that will
recognize the universal application of management discipline in all fields of business activities
and social life.
Our students are will equipped with management knowledge and practicing technique. They
are diligent and acquiescent techno-managers who have undergone an exhaustive two years
schedule in various management specializations. Experienced faculty has put in meticulous
efforts in personality development and capacity building of these aspiring techno-managers. I
am sure they will be able to prove their worth and value to organizations wherever they work.

Academic Programmes
The MBA curriculum is structured as four semesters in two years. A total of 89 credits are covered during the
whole programme. Students undertake 45 to 60 days Summer Internship Programme in various business
firms across various management functions at the end of the 1st year of the programme and work on a live
project in the fourth semester based of their area of interest.
Doctoral Programme is globally recognized and is a premier source of rigorous and inter-disciplinary research
in all areas of business management. The main objective is to encourage original work in different aspects of
management and to develop scholars who go on to contribute towards its growth through teaching and
research. Research areas cover supply chain management, operations management, product development,
quality, productivity, marketing and systems.
The Institute also encourages interdisciplinary areas through a system of co-supervision and provides
excellent opportunities for such programmes. The Institute undertakes sponsored research and development projects from industry and other organizations public as well as private sector.
B. Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.)
Program Objective
The award of Ph.D. degree is in recognition of high academic achievements, independent research and application
of knowledge to the solution of industrial and scientific problems in Management. Creative and productive inquiry is
the basic concept underlying the research work. The research work shall be an original work characterized either by
the discovery of facts, or by a fresh approach towards the interpretation and application of facts. It shall evince the
candidate’s capacity for critical examination and sound judgment and shall represent original contribution to the existing knowledge.
Pedagogy
The academic programme leading to the Ph.D. degree is broad-based and involves a course credit requirement and a
research thesis. The Ph.D. programme consists of two stages. In stage 1, the research scholar will be treated as a
provisional student and he/she is to complete the credit requirement. Followed by this, the student has to take a
comprehensive and oral examination. In the second stage, the research scholar who has successfully passed the
comprehensive examination will be formally registered as a candidate for Ph.D. degree.
Admissions
The DMS, MNIT conducts its own entrance test followed by interview.

A. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Program Objective
MBA is a two year programme spread over four semesters. The programme seeks to train students to become
decision makers with socially sensitive, broad strategic vision, and capabilities of assuming higher corporate
responsibilities and marked degree of flexibility in internal relationship.
Pedagogy
The institute believes that self-learning is the best means of learning, especially at the post-graduation level,
and accordingly, faculty should act as facilitators more than a teacher. Teacher is heavily oriented towards
case studies, presentations and assignments. A variety of seminars are organized by faculty and students during the academic sessions.
Admissions
The DMS, MNIT conducts its own entrance test.

Training and Industrial Project
To build the bridge between the theory and practice, students are required to spend weeks on Summer
Internship between 2nd and 3rd semester and a full year live project in the second year.

Student Exchange With MDI Gurgaon
The Department of Management Studies has entered into Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) with Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon
for the student exchange in International Summer University started by MDI.

MOU.
