Areas Where Applicable
All floor drains. Special attention must be paid to Mechanical rooms as heat will cause floor
drains to dry out faster. This will allow the release of unpleasant odors.
Procedure
1) Pour at least 5 gallons of cold/warm water into drain. If all the water goes down and no
unpleasant odors are present, then the drain is working and you are finished.
2) If drain has dried out or is emitting unpleasant odors put an enzyme sachet into the drain.
Do not remove the water soluble cover.
3) Pour cold or warm water over the sachet until it has completely dissolved.
4) Check the drain the following day and repeat the process if necessary.
Safety & PPE Recommendations
PPE recommends hand and eye protection.
Performance Standards
Floor drains should be allowed to dry out and should be free from odors.
