have several upcoming opportunities to help you prepare for tryouts.

Tryout Informational Meeting, Friday, April 4th 2014- Truax Indoor Center (5:00-6:00
PM); Followed by a Stunt Clinic (6:00-8:00 PM). This is an opportunity to find out about
the tryout process at OSU.
College Prep Camp, Sunday, April 6th, 2014- Truax Indoor Center (1:00-5:00 PM).
Instruction is offered by the current OSU coaches and members in addition to alumni
members and NBA & NFL Cheerleaders.
Stunt Clinics, Fridays, April 11th & 18th 2014- Truax Indoor Center (5:30-7:30 PM)
Free Open Stunt Clinics will be available each spring. Instruction does NOT occur
during these clinics. It is a time to get together with others interested in the team and
work on skills.
CheerleadingTryouts, Monday/Tuesday, April 21st & 22nd, 2014- Gill Coliseum (5:0011:00 PM). There is a non-refundable $35 tryout fee.
Dance Tryouts, Wednesday/Thursday, April 23rd & 24th, 2014- Gill Coliseum (5:0011:00 PM). There is a non-refundable $35 tryout fee.
Oregon State University offers two sideline teams; Cheerleaders and Dancers.
Requirements for BOTH teams:
· Excellent Dance Ability (women only)
· Excellent Showmanship
· Excellent Physical Fitness
· You must be accepted to Oregon State University by the time of try-outs (ID# required)
Preferred Skills for CHEERLEADERS:
· Standing back-hand-spring
· Standing back-tuck
· Round-off back-hand-spring-back tuck
· Stunt Ability (We focus mainly on the height of your toss.)
*Not everyone will be able to stunt in “top” positions, due to safety concerns for the
bases. The average flyer weighs less than 120 lbs. *All female cheerleaders stunt in
“top” positions.
Requirements for DANCERS:
· Double pirouette
· Calypso (preferred)
· Split leap
· Flexibility (full splits and high kicks)
· Ability to execute pom, jazz, and hip hop dance choreography
· Ability to pick up new dance material quickly
* If you do not have one of the required skills, you may be considered for an alternate
position.
Financial Assistance/ Benefits
All Nike uniforms & gear are provided free of charge. All members will have the
opportunity to receive tickets for OSU athletic events. Members receive a variety of
discounts (ex. Timberhill Athletic Club Membership). All travel is provided free of
charge.
You are strongly encouraged to attend as many events as possible. You are also
strongly encouraged to bring a male stunt partner with you even if he has no experience
or does not plan to attend OSU as a student. Females always out-number the males
and the more males we have at our clinics, the more repetitions the females can get on
their stunting.
