So, REMEMBER… It is the student’s (YOUR) responsibility to… Begin the attendance intervention process, Meet with his/her counselor, Meet with his/her teacher, and Uphold the agreement of the attendance intervention plan. Failure to follow the attendance intervention process or uphold the attendance intervention plan may result in the assignment of an E3 (failure due to attendance) for the course. This may impact your GPA & ability to GRADUATE on time. SHELTER-IN-PLACE Evacuation Reverse Evacuation Drop, Cover, and Hold Lockdown Shelter-in-Place Why: Public safety, severe weather, hazardous material release Listen for an announcement of a shelter-in-place and do the following: • • • • Clear halls. Report to your teacher for attendance. Remain in classroom – no passes. Follow all staff directions. Evacuation Why: An emergency is occurring in the building which requires total evacuation at 300 feet away from the building Listen for an announcement of an evacuation and do the following: • • • • Follow your teacher like a fire drill. Report to your teacher for attendance. Follow your teacher to 300 feet away from the building. Follow all staff directions. Reverse Evacuation Why: An emergency is occurring outside of the building which requires all students/staff/visitors outside of the building to come inside Listen for an announcement of a reverse evacuation and do the following: • • • • • If outside, follow your teacher inside. If inside, follow the “shelter in place” process Report to your teacher for attendance. Stay out of the halls. Follow all staff directions. Drop, Cover, and Hold Why: An emergency is occurring outside of the building which requires all in the building to seek immediate cover. Listen for an announcement of a drop, cover, and hold and do the following: • Immediately drop to the ground, go under a sturdy object (desk, table), and hold until further notice. • Stay out of the halls. • Follow all staff directions. Lockdown Why: Significant safety concern Listen for an announcement of a lockdown alert and do the following: • Go to nearest securable (locked) location. • Remain in secure and darkened classroom: – – – – Maintain silence Do not use any electronic devices. Ignore alarms and bells. Do not open the locked classroom door. • Follow all staff directions. Locker Information See Ms. Hernandez, RMHS Business Administrator, with questions or for assistance Locker Expectations: You are responsible for the locker you are assigned. ONLY use the locker assigned to you. Do Not give your locker combination to other students. Do Not share lockers. Bring your own locks for your lockers. Put all valuables and electronics in a locked & secure locker. Locker Information Important REMINDERS: You are responsible for any items found in your locker(s). You are considered the owner of any property found in your locker(s). You face administrative consequences for using a locker that does not belong to you. If you have any questions you should speak with a member of the school security team or school administration. Computer Usage • All MCPS computers are to be used for approved educational purposes only. • Attempting to bypass MCPS web filtering policies is a violation of the MCPS computer use policy. • Do not share your computer password with anyone. • Do not leave your computer open with your password for others to access. Green Blue Yellow CELL PHONES AND PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES • Should not be visible or used in any manner during classroom/instructional time • During classroom/ instructional time they must be turned off • Kept out of sight in a book bag, purse, or in your pockets Head Covering • Students must remove all head covering in the classroom unless they have an approved religious reason. • Head coverings will be allowed for all students before school, during lunch, after school, and between passing times in the halls. • This privilege can be removed by administration at any time if students do not follow staff requests. All other dress code rules still apply. Intentional conduct, including verbal, physical, or written (telephone, cell phone, computer) that creates a hostile educational environment.
