The following timeline provides a general overview of upcoming events for seniors for the Class
of 2016. As needed, prior to each event more specific information will be shared with students
through RMBC, the Principal’s Newsletter, ConnectED messages, and Principal’s email blasts.
March
March 11: Senior class meeting during 3rd period in the auditorium followed by Senior class picture taken in
the gym. Students are expected to wear their senior class t-shirts or plain black shirts.
March 15: Informal meeting at lunch for students interested in auditioning to be the student graduation speaker
March 17: Senior parent meetings in the Rocket Café. The first meeting begins at 3:30 PM and the second
meeting begins at 6:30. Parents only need to attend one meeting as the same information will be
shared at both: A review of important upcoming dates & events and a graduation update
March 21: Senior fees are added as an obligation to students who have not yet paid
March 23: Last day for seniors to turn in Student Service Learning (SSL) hours for seniors looking to earn a
Certificate of Meritorious Service Award. Contact SSL Coordinator, Ms. Evan Anderson.
April
April 4-April 13: Senior banquet tickets go on sale during lunch. The cost per ticket is $35.00.
April 6 through April 8: Taped auditions for student graduation speaker
April 11: Obligation letters are sent to the homes of all seniors (excluding textbooks). Please note that
obligations can and do change during the school year.
Note: You can pay on-line: Go to the RMHS website, look at the left hand column and click on “on-line school payments”. Click on
the “Obligations” tab at the top. The first time you use the on-line payment system you will need to set up an account.

April 13 through May 13: Tickets are sold for bus transportation to the commencement ceremony. The cost is
$20 per ticket (cash or check). Checks must include the students’ name and
school ID number and be made out to Richard Montgomery High School. Payment
can be given to Ms. Weaver directly or in care of the Main Office.
April 14: Senior banquet at Lakewood Country Club from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The cost per ticket is $35.00.
Tickets are limited so interested students should purchase their ticket early.
April 18: Final decision/selection of student graduation speakers.
April 22: Final date to order 2016 Yearbook (Cost is now $95.00)
April 27: Start of ticket sales for Prom ($55) and PTSA Post Prom ($15). Tickets will be sold to seniors
exclusively for the first two days of ticket sales. (Contact Mrs. Wheeler, Class of 2017 Sponsor, for
additional information by email at [email protected] or in person in the PE Office)
Note: There are only 425 tickets maximum for PTSA Post Prom at Bowlmor; midnight to 5:00 a.m. So get your ticket
before we sell out!
May
May 2: Last day for seniors to turn in Student Service Learning (SSL) hours to meet graduation
requirements. Contact SSL coordinator, Ms. Evan Anderson ([email protected]).
May 2 - 13: AP Testing (Students that are impacted will receive more information closer to the testing dates.)
May 2 - 20: IB Testing (Students that are impacted will receive more information closer to the testing dates.)
May 13: Prom at Rockville Hilton, 7:30-11:30 p.m; Tickets are $55. (Contact Mrs. Wheeler, Class of
2017 Sponsor, for additional information by email at [email protected] or in person in
the PE Office)
May 13: PTSA Post Prom at Bowlmor; midnight to 5:00 a.m. Tickets are $15.00 and there are only 425
tickets maximum. So get your ticket before we sell out!
May 16-20: Algebra I and English 10 PARCC Assessments--Specific dates for testing at RMHS TBD
(Students that are impacted will get more information regarding testing.)
May 19: Awards Night at Richard Montgomery High School. More information will be added.
May 23: Government H.S.A. Administration (select students ONLY)
May 24: Biology H.S.A. Administration (select students ONLY)

May 23-May 27: Senior final exams
May 24: Top 5% Scholars’ Dinner—at Sol Azteca in Olney from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
May 25: Featured Scholars’ Dinner—at Sol Azteca in Olney from 7:00-9:30 p.m.
May 27: Final day for seniors
May 31: All textbooks should be returned to the school.
June
June 3: Teachers will enter obligations for all remaining fees and textbooks that have not been returned.
June 3: Obligation letters are sent to the homes of all seniors.
June 3: Documentation of all community service performed during the second semester is due to SSL
coordinator, Ms. Evan Anderson ([email protected]). Will NOT count towards June
graduation!
June 8: Mandatory graduation rehearsal for students begins at 7:25 a.m. at Richard Montgomery High
School. Students who do not attend the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the
commencement ceremony at DAR on June 10, 2016.
June 10: Commencement ceremony at 10:00 a.m. at DAR Constitution Hall (expected arrival time for students
is 9:00 a.m.)
