Senior Fees/Obligations • Senior Fees are now $55. • Obligations and senior fees should be cleared in advance in order to participate in the following: - Senior Banquet - Prom/Post-Prom - Graduation Senior Fees/Obligations • Letters have gone out with your fees/obligations. • Letters will go out in April and May as well. – Elevator keys – Textbooks—Find them NOW!!! – Course fees – Old obligations • This information can and does change as obligations are added over the course of the semester. • Speak with your counselor if there are financial considerations that you need to share. Algebra 1, Geometry) Physical Education 1 Health 0.5 Fine Arts 1 *Other Classes 4.5 Tech Ed 1 Total 22 • High School Assessment (HSA): English 10, Algebra 1, Biology, NSL Government Must have sat for the English 10 and Algebra HSA or PARCC; NOT Required to pass Biology must be part of a combined score or must earn a 400; if not then a Bridge Project must be completed • 75 Student Service Learning Hours: (SSL) completed by March 23/May 2nd Please contact your counselor for questions about your grad status. SSL Hours • March 23rd– The last day to turn in SSL hours for Certificate of Meritorious Service Award! • May 2nd – The last day to turn in SSL hours for graduation! • See Ms. Anderson in the counseling office! Attendance • 5 unlawful absences (student earns an E3) = – Automatic failure for class – Automatic letter to parents with notification of E3 – An Attendance Intervention Plan MUST be submitted • Forms are available in the Main Office and Counseling Office • The forms must be completed immediately upon students reaching 5 unlawful absences • Top copy of the form (white) must be given to the classroom teacher • Bottom copy of the form (yellow) must be given to the grade level administrator – Continued unlawful absences = E3 (fail course/No credit for class) Senior Exam Schedule • Review day is Friday, May 20, 2016 • Due to changes in the PARCC Assessment and administration the schedule is still being developed • The testing schedule (including delayed openings) will be released soon via the RMHS website and ConnectED Senior H.S.A. Information • The senior only April HSA is no longer offered. • Seniors needing to sit for an HSA in order to meet graduation requirements will due so the week of May 23rd. Only the Biology and Government HSAs will be given. • Seniors in need of a test will receive a pass. • Seniors without H.S.A. credit should be working on H.S.A. Bridge projects. Contact the following for information: Biology Projects- Ms. Pintar Gov Projects- Mr. Eagleson (OYG 2017/2018) • General H.S.A. questions should be directed to Mr. Garrick Senior Interventions Counselors and staff have two senior monitoring tools: 1. Students missing SSL, H.S.A, 5+ absences, or non-course grade requirements. 2. Students with a D or E in a course at 3rd MP interims We need your help also! It takes a village! Please monitor your senior’s grades and attendance closely until the end! Senior Banquet – April 14th! Senior banquet at Lakewood Country Club is from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale April 4th-April 13th Tickets cost $35.00 Prom – Rockville Hilton – th May 13 7:30-11:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale starting April 27th. Tickets will be sold to seniors exclusively for the first two days. Tickets are $55.00 Post-Prom – Bowlmor May 13th Midnight to 5:00 a.m. Students do not have to attend prom to join the post-prom FUN! Only 425 Tickets so buy before they’re sold out! Post-Prom • Even kids who wouldn't normally engage in risky behavior sometimes think that doing so on Prom night is a right of passage. Hosting a drug and alcohol free Post Prom gives our children a safe option. (425 Tickets will be sold for this event) • Since relocating RM's Post Prom to Bowlmor, attendance has more than doubled in the last two years. • This is a wonderful place to have Post Prom, but it is very expensive. • The Committee works hard all year raising money so that the cost of a ticket is never an issue for a student, but....the PTSA needs donations to make it happen!! • Please feel free to leave a tax-deductible donation today made out to the RMHS PTSA (Post-Prom Committee). Graduation Student Speaker • Interest meeting was Wednesday, March 15th at lunch in the main office conference room • Taped Auditions April 6-8th • Panel review and recommendation to school leadership/administration teams • Selection of speakers by April 22nd Graduation Speaker Dr. Jordan A. Please email Kim Heidler with any special needs. Graduation Rehearsal • Wednesday, June 8th at 7:25 a.m. @ RMHS • All graduates are required to attend rehearsal in order to be able to walk during the ceremony. • Rehearsal will run as long as it takes to get it right. Students are expected to stay until we are finished—the goal is to end by 11:00. Graduation Rehearsal • Tickets will be distributed at the end of rehearsal. • Students must be on time for rehearsal and stay until the end to receive their cap and gown. Graduation Ceremony Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. • DAR Constitution Hall • Graduates must arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. • All graduates should be dressed in appropriate attire when they arrive Graduates Guest Seating DAR Constitution Hall Ceremony Courtesy • This is an exciting moment for all families and friends. Please refrain from loud celebrations while student names are being announced to respect the student who follows. • Loud noisemakers are prohibited in DAR. Graduation Ceremony Attire No messages or decorations on cap or graduation attire Graduation Ceremony Attire Boys Girls • Wrinkle-free black academic robe • Black mortarboard with tassel on left • Long dress pants • Dress shoes with socks • White shirt with collar and tie • Jewelry should not be worn on the outside of academic robe • Wrinkle-free black academic robe • Black mortarboard with tassel on left • Dress, skirt, or long dress pants • Blouse (light colors are preferred) • Dress shoes with stockings. Avoid high heels. • Clothing, jewelry, and accessories should not be on the outside of academic robe Diplomas • After the graduation ceremony—Students proceed to their assigned hallway to receive their diploma from their guidance counselor. • If there is an issue with their diploma contact the school afterwards. please • Your child should have already completed a diploma card stating how they would like their name to appear on their diploma. See Mrs. Goodman in counseling with questions. Graduation Transportation/Parking • Drive/Car • Bus option– Departs RMHS between 7:25-7:30 – Arrives at DAR between 8:30-9:00 – Leaves 20 minutes after the conclusion of the ceremony to return to RMHS • Parking is very limited • Metro is an option (2 stops within 5-7 minute walk of DAR) Graduation Transportation/Parking • Bus option: Start selling on April 13th – Tickets are sold for bus transportation to the commencement ceremony. – The cost is ($20.00-$25.00/TBD) per ticket (cash or check). Checks must include the students’ name and school ID number and be made out to Richard Montgomery High School. – Payment can be given to Ms. Weaver directly or in care of the Main Office. – Bus sales end on May 13th Your child only has 52 days left as a SENIOR!!!
