Dismantling Barriers to Equity in Education:
Best Practices for Educators, Parents, and the
Community
Dr. Noguera will facilitate a workshop that will explore the barriers to the development of equitable and inclusive schools. Workshop participants will learn about
barriers that incorporate a complex set of factors involving social, economic and
political systems, and the way in which schools engage with children, parents and
the community. Workshop participants will also be introduced to best teaching
practices in schools who are empowered through strategic collaboration with
stakeholders in their local communities, in order to identify and remove the barriers to academic achievement, thus reducing educational inequities.
